Black Flag Kickboxing Code Of Conduct!

Show respect to your instructors and training partners

Students are asked to call the head instructors "KRU"  all others will be addressed as “Coach"

Call other students by their name, or nickname if they prefer.

Hygiene -Shower regularly and use deodorant. Keep fingers and toe nails short and clean to prevent injury to yourself and others. Bring clean clothes to each class and a towel to wipe your sweat.

Mat Cleanliness – Do not walk on the mat with your shoes, so that we can prevent the spread of germs. Do not walk outside with bare feet. If you have to exit the mat, wear sandals or shoes.

Do not enter restrooms without shoes.

Illnesses – Do not attend class if you are sick. You will not be allowed to train.

Sparring– Always shake your sparring partner’s hand before and after sparring. Do not seek to harm fellow students physically (ex. using your superior size and weight on a smaller person, or hitting/kicking too hard).

Coaching – Parents, please do not coach or instruct your child on what to do while training because you may tell them something that is incorrect or not safe to do for themselves or the other students. (Motivation and cheering is allowed)

Coaching is only done by the coaches.

  • Mat Etiquette
  • Do not talk to your partner during rounds. You must train seriously and hard enough for you and your partner to improve your skills, conditioning, and game.
  • Be a good partner, Not giving your best during training does not help either of you to improve.
  • When a teammate asks you to drill/spar, you may not refuse to drill/spar (It’s disrespectful)
  • Do not talk while the instructor is talking. It distracts those who are trying to learn and it is disrespectful to the teacher, as well as other students.
  • No Horseplay
  • NO wrestling, punching, kicking, etc.. Outside of sparring or drilling.
  • No Gum!
  • Bow before stepping on the mat.
  • If late stand by the mat until the instructor invites you onto the mat.
  • Sit or stand on the mat when instruction is taking place or when class is in session,
  • Do not lie down on the mat, no leaning on the walls.
  • Do not leave class without being dismissed by the Coach.
  • Cell phone use is not allowed during class.(unless recording)
  • Pick up after yourself and don’t leave your equipment on the ground unless instructed.
  • Gym bags are to be stored in the cubbies.
  • We are not responsible for lost items.
  • Do not play with any equipment that your class is not using.

Technique Training

  • If the instructor has not changed the technique, continue doing the technique
  • Do not practice other techniques without permission
  • Do not sit around talking because you feel you have done a technique enough times.

You can NEVER do a technique too many times.

Language – Do not use profanity.

Dress Code – Shirts must be tucked. No shorts with pockets, excessively long t-shirts, No Jewelry.

Muay Thai/Kickboxing requires Thai Trunks or MMA shorts and a T-Shirt/Rashguard.

Equipment

  •  Each student must have their own equipment after the 2nd week of sign up!
  • Boxing gloves
  • MMA Gloves
  • Shinguards
  • Mouthpiece
  • Cup

Student Drop off/Pick up – Do not drop off your child earlier than 15 minutes prior to their class and pick up your child no later than 15 minutes after class ends.

*Students under 12yrs old are to be picked up at the door*
